25 Feb'02: Annie is writing hard!
According to a trusted fan who spoke to Annie Lennox's management recently Annie's new CD is definitely "happening" although no release date has been set at this point. "Annie is writing hard... and has recorded a few very early tracks" was the essence of the message from 19 Management. The CD is going to be a solo project ie. Dave is not involved in the process this time around.

25 Feb '02: Annie on human rights
Annie has long been dedicated to the human rights cause as an active supporter of Amnesty International. Especially one case, the imprisonment of the Tibetan musician Ngawang Choephel by the Chinese authorities made her raise her voice. 8 Mar '02: Annie at the Palace
As a part of the celebrations surrounding Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee, ie. her 50th year as the monarch of Great Britain, a star-studded concert "Party at the Palace" will take place on 3 June in front of Buckingham Palace, London. It's just been announced that Annie Lennox will be one of the performers among other names such as Tony Bennett, Cliff Richard and MIS-TEEQ.
UK citizens have until 17 March to apply for free tickets for the concert. Tickets will be drawn by ballot: Apply for ticket at the BBC.
Some 14,000 tickets will be available, but the event will be televised and displayed on screens beside the Palace for those without tickets. Competition for a ticket is rife though - BBC reports "Million-strong queue for jubilee gigs"

8 Mar '02: Paint a rumour...
The professional rumour-mongers at www.popbitch.com claim that Annie Lennox has recently "scrapped the whole lot" of material she's been recording for a new album. Popbitch haven't got any more details about this story and they don't neme their source for the story.

5 May '02: Annie recording - is she or isn't she?
As reported a while ago a gossip magazine claimed that Annie just scrapped about an album's worth of material. According to Annie's management this is not true. She is in the studio recording and she has a lot of material already, but there's no date set for a release.

5 May '02: Dave on Bryan Ferry album
Dave has cowritten and played on four tracks on Bryan Ferry's recent album "Frantic": Cruel, Goddess of Love, Nobody Loves Me and San Simeon. He also produced two tracks. More info here: Amazon UK - Amazon USA

5 May '02: Special guest at fan convention
11 May is the date of this year's Eurythmics fan convention in Düsseldorf, Germany and it has just been confirmed that the fans will meet a special guest there. Christa Fast, friend of Annie Lennox and wife of the late Conny Planck with whom Eurythmics recorded their first album, will attend this year's gathering.
