| 1 Oct '00: A few days ago I announced that Dave Stewart is going to work with Natalie Imbruglia for the next six months as a writer / producer on her new album. Well maybe that isn't entirely true as I have been informed that Imbruglia's new album is already finished waiting to be released soon. Whether Dave has been involved here is not confirmed - so we'll see when the album comes out I guess...
8 Oct '00: Now the recording of this summer's 'Pavarotti and Friends' concert in Italy has been released on CD. (Remember this concert? Read more about it and the other summer concerts). There's a picture of Dave and Annie on the cover and the CD includes their performance of 'There Must Be An Angel' (a novel duet with Pavarotti) and 'I Saved The World Today'. At amazon.com you can hear little snippets of some tracks. The CD should also be available in Europe. In addition there's a video out in the US (although a bit pricey it's also available at amazon.com) - I don't know if the video is available in Europe. 12 Oct '00: If you like polls then here's another one for you. Go to Channel 4's website (it's a UK TV station) and vote for your all-time favourite UK no. 1 singles. You have to vote for ten songs you like and one that you hate. I of course mention this to you because 'There Must Be An Angel' is among the choices. Actually this was the only Eurythmics single to go to number 1 although they have always been massively popular in the UK. Annie Lennox's 'Why' also went straight to no.1. 26 Oct '00: The Eurythmics radio is here! Yes, this really is a radio station solely dedicated to playing the music of Eurythmics, and anyone with an Internet connection can tune in and listen to it. Fellow fan and website-host Chris has started this radio station which plays Eurythmics music non-stop. However tomorrow the first special show goes on the air, an 'acoustic showcase' which starts at 21:00 GMT. The songs are: 12 Oct '00: According to a reliable source in the Eurythmics management there are no further plans around Eurythmics for the rest of this year. The source claims that Annie and Dave will meet up early next year and talk about where to go from there. Well, information like this is of course always to be taken with a pinch of salt - only Dave and Annie know exactly what the plans are, and like everybody else they sometimes change their minds. But what ever happens I will of course continue to keep you updated, and just because Eurythmics are not in the studio there may still be other interesting news coming up. 12 Oct '00: Have a look at www.davestewart.com Dave's very own website. There's a song you can download and listen to called 'Kinky Business'. It says the song is from 'Utopian Night Lectures' - I have no idea what that is! 26 Oct '00: A new video/DVD released in USA in November called "The Best Of Tina Turner: Celebrate!" and it includes a short dedication by Annie. (Apparantly it's been out in Europe for a while, but I didn't hear about it 'till now). It's a recording of Turner's 60th birthday concert and it includes an interview, live duets and "a string of special dedications to Tina by a host of stars" including Annie Lennox. I found out it's just a short comment by Annie, but I thought I'd mention it. Annie respects Tina Turner's talents a lot, actually Turner was the first choice for the "Sister's Are Doin' It For Themselves" duet, but when her schedule didn't allow her to participate Aretha Franklin got to sing the song with Annie instead. 16 Oct '00: Go have a look at this brand new Annie Lennox website www.annie-lennox.com. It's a labour of love from fellow fan David Wilkie who has spent countless hours working on the design and content of it and he promises there's a lot more to come... Congrats to you David! |
