| 11 Jul '00: Eurythmistan news is back again after a small vacation, a computer crash etc. As a compensation for the lack of activity here's a summary of this summer's Eurythmical events - the summer tour that ended before it was supposed to: Summer tour 2000 special
11 Jun '00: On new album "Faith and Courage" Sineàd O'Connor worked closely together with Dave Stewart. "Dave's an angel" she says. The result is three fine songs Jealous, Daddy I'm fine and Till I Whisper You Something. Read more about or buy the album here. 31 Jul '00: No news is good news, right? It's been a quiet month. D&A are taking some time off from "the public eye" and so the stream of news on this website has slowed down. Earlier this year Dave Stewart revealed that future plans involved him, Annie and their respective families possibly going on vacation together, and that the two of them would go back in the studio around September to work on a new album. All this was said a while ago though - plans sometimes change - but it does sound very promising, doesn't it? Meanwhile rest assured that I will be back with the latest news when there's something Eurythmical to report. 2 Aug '00: "Sexy Annie" says American magazine People. "Staying Sexy" is a run down of sexy women over 40. Maybe not exactly Annie's cup of tea but at People they nevertheless find it appropriate for her to be included on their list alongside the likes of Madonna and Cher. And who am I to disagree... Look here 2 Aug '00: Annie pays her respect on the forthcoming Joni Mitchell tribute album "A Case of Joni". Annie already recorded Joni's "Ladies of the Canyon" in 1995, so I'm guessing that this will be her contribution to the album that includes tracks from Elton John, k.d. lang, Janet Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Björk and many others. Expected release sometime this winter. (sonicnet.com) 15 Aug '00: If you feel like voting some more go to the MTV Europe website to vote for your "TOP 100 Ever" favourite tracks. You can choose from Eurythmics' "There Must Be An Angel" or "I Saved The World Today". The 100 most popular ones will be on MTV Europe later this month. 7 Aug '00: Vote for Annie on the poll for the all time favorite winning artists at the MTV Video awards. Annie is nominated with her 1992 winner "Why". Go here to vote. 21 Aug '00: Annie and Dave have been keeping away from the limelight recently, but a small news item on the web reveals that they are out and about as they have been spotted celebrating U2's producer Flood recently when he turned 40. The only other notable thing about the party was the fact that Dave's ex wife Siobhan Fahey (formerly of Shakespear's Sister) was also attending. Apparently the divorce might not be too unamicable. |
