Enjoy. 11 May '00: It has now been confirmed that the new single "Peace is Just a Word" will be released 15 May in a limited edition. There will only be one version of the CD (UK singles are often released in two versions to boost sales). Reportedly the tracks are: 14 May '00: This weekend you can pick up a copy of UK paper The Sunday Times and get a free copy of the single Peace Is Just a Word and read a lengthy interview. Here's a quote of Annie's from the interview: "It takes me a long time to get on stage and I think, oh, I'm not really a singer or a writer, I'm really a housewife and should be shopping in Sainsbury's. But once I'm there I remember what it is, who I am, what to do. I remember that I belong there too." 8 May '00: Dave and Annie, along with a keyboard player, played a festival May 1st in Rome, organized by the Vatican for the Christian Jubilee and to support "Drop the Debt". They played "Here comes the rain", "I saved the world today", "There Must be an angel" and "Sweet Dreams". Other acts on the bill included: Alanis Morrisette, Lou Reed, Youssou N'Dour, Noa, Andrea Bocelli. Dave played an acoustic guitar on the first two tracks and an electric on the other two. The festival was broadcast live on italian national Tv. I have not found any pictures from the event, but if you go to my links section, you'll find a couple of mp3's. 3 Jun '00: Charity auction at the new German fan site www.ethrill.net. Place a bid on a copy of the limited edition CD described below. All proceeds of this auction go to Greenpeace 4 Jun '00: Eurythmics seem so pleased to be together again, that Dave and Annie plan to go back in the studio later this year to work on a new album. Dave has revealed this news in OK Magazine as well as in a Daily Mail interview. 7 Jun '00: Yesterday Eurythmics performed in Italy at the "Pavarotti & Friends" charity galla event. Check out this website for pictures and video clips. 11 Jul '00: Eurythmics Greatest Hits became the 9th biggest selling CD of the 90s in the UK at 8 million copies. To compare Spice Girls debut album at no. 1. sold 20 million. 11 Jul '00: Both Eurythmics Greatest Hits and Totally Diva are scheduled to be released on DVD in the US this year in September (according to Billboard Magazine). Meanwhile their best ever video album, Savage, is still totally unavailable. What is the point with that? |
