May 11 '98: A German magazine (Musikexpress/Sounds) reports a new album from Dave Stewart in the works to be released this spring. No title yet. It seems to be another solo album. Apparantly it will be released on the East/West label. May 11 '98: Since March there has been rumours about a new album from Annie Lennox. It has been confirmed that she has been recording new material and at some point the album was on Arista's (the record company) release list for June. Now it seems to have been postponed for sometime in the fall. Some say the album will be called "Venus", and there are some doubts whether it will consist of all new material or some reworkings of tracks from the Eurythmics days. One thing is sure, there will be some sort of album coming out. May 14 '98: German teletext (VIVA TV) reports that Eurythmics are ready for a comeback. They write: "Eurythmics reunited 7 yrs. after split. Dave Stewart and Annie Lennox have already secretly been writing new material and are currently preparing for a new album. The group split in 1991." Today English teletext announced a reunion of Eurythmics as well. May 11 '98: Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart played acoustic versions of six classic Eurythmics songs at ICA (London) on Saturday 2 May at a benefit concert to mark the launch of The Lavender Trust (breast cancer charity) in front of an audience of 300 people!
