Artists on the album will be some of Diana's favorite artists. Annie Lennox is one of them, she will sing "Angel" and "Ave Maria". Elton John's version of "Candle In the Wind" as it was sung at the funeral will also be on the album. Others are Peter Gabriel and Seal. As many artists as possible are expected to appear at concerts in New York and London next August.
Aug 97: The aug. 15. issue of Entertainment Weekly informs about a new Joni Mitchell album coming up. The article states that so many singers wanted to be included on the Joni Mitchell tribute album, that many had to turned down. Some of the artists who have already contributed songs are Chaka Khan, Annie Lennox, Sarah McLachlan, Etta James, and k.d. lang. Elvis Costello and Janet Jackson have also been inked in to contribute cover versions. This album will not be in stores until late 1998 so as not to conflict with the release of Joni's new album which is due out in February.
Annie Lennox have already released a cover version of the Joni Mitchell song "Ladies of The Canyon" as a B-side, and that track will probably be the one to appear on the tribute album.
