To compare Medusa's peak position at #11 was the previous Billboard record by any Annie Lennox / Eurythmics album. In Europe Bare's success on the charts has been moderate - more info here:

The last time I’m going to do all this!” Annie addressed her audience for the last time with a sense of satisfaction and sorrow at the Sadlers Wells Theatre on the closing night of her tour. May 29, 2003: Annie dedicated 'Here Comes The Rain again' to Dave Stewart with love at the concert last Thursday in Vienna. Knowing he was present - with wife Anoushka - she told the audience how she felt a bit shy about playing this song as Dave knows and plays it so well himself.

May 29, 2003: Billboard prints a glowing review of 'Pavement Cracks': "It opens sadly, almost bashfully, with the a cappella sound of that glorious voice through the first verse, then escalates to a light bounce before catapulting into full fervent throttle, rife with lyrical discontent and delusion" ... 'Pavement' is a rainbow of vocal hues, pure and seemingly effortless. Annie Lennox remains riveting and so very satisfying."

Mar 27, 2003: According to the German fan site annielennox.de there are no singles planned before the release of Bare. A lot of artists don't release singles any more, instead a sampler of a few tracks are sent to the radio stations. Mar 9, 2003: In the last few days various online music sharing applications (Kazaa, WinMX etc.) have been flooded with fake Annie Lennox mp3s. The track titles promise material from the new album but the files contain nothing but a few seconds of another track or silence. This is the strategy of the record company in an attempt to make it impossible to share any of the real new Annie Lennox songs. The campaign may indicate that promotional copies of 'Bare' have now been distributed to a wider circle of people.
